Although infant formula  is now in circulation  has been declared safe by the Food and Drug Supervisory Agency (BPOM) and the Ministry of Health, but still, many parents are afraid to give formula to their children.

To dismiss these concerns, Health Minister Endang Rahayu Sedyaningsih provides eight tips to prevent bacterial contamination in infant formula.

1. See expiration date on bottled milk.

2. Make sure the milk packaging in good condition, no dents.

3. Do not give milk formula for infants aged less than 6 months, except in conditions of forced.

4. Note the cleanliness of person who prepared the formula, such as hand washing.

5. Always make sure to wash and sterilize the milk bottles.

6. Melt milk formula with hot water which was boiling.

7. Give milk to the baby while still in warm conditions. If it is cold and more than 2 hours, replace with new milk.

8. If the milk cans had been opened more than 8 days, you should replace it with new milk.
